If They Could Talk

The other day we were going down the road and I saw this home. I don't know if you are like I am when I see a home like this I wonder what stories it could tell if it could talk.  Why it is abandoned? Oh, the joys it could talk about, the laughter, the tears, and the sorrows. I am sure they all have a story.

How about this home? Once a loved place, a sanctuary, a place of warmth and love, or a place of pain, sorrow, of tears. I always wonder what the stories they would tell if they could talk.

This is an old Hotel here in Harlowton, The stories it could tell of its glory days, the railroad days, full of people and laughter.

They say there are ghosts that are living there, maybe wanting to tell their stories. Now abandoned and forgotten. And yes it is called the Graves Hotel, built 1908.

What would be the stories your homes would tell? I hope mine would talk about the love, the good times, the laughter, the peace and maybe just a few (I hope very few) of the bad times. Something to think about.

  1. I am the same way! I drive through the streets of Ogden or down town Salt lake--you know the neighborhoods where these once regal homes are split into a million apartments or not lived in at all, and I envision the days when children ran through the halls, and the wives talked across the hedge. I love old homes!

  2. This was a fun post. I always wish I had lots of money and could restore old homes, but you have pointed out the magic of those homes just the way they are. Oh the memories they must hold.
