Changing of the Guard

Last week we were able to go to Billings to meet our new Mission President, President and Sister Mecham from Salt Lake City. The more thing change the more they stay the same. All the missionaries from the eastern side of Montana and Wyoming meet for the meeting, some driving 5 and 1/2 hours. Now I don't feel so bad about our 2 hours. One thing he said was that he wanted the missionaries to talk about President Gardener as he knows they loved him and he was a great President. I think they will be great , they were very personable and we enjoyed the meetings very much. Just before lunch they opened it up to questions and answers, very daring in a room full of young missionaries. They were funny, serious and made some very spiritual points just what a Mission President and his wife should be. Sister Mecham and I should get along fine as she is a Breast Cancer Survivor.

Love being with all the young missionaries.

  1. So cool! My mission president's wife was a breast cancer survivor also! Well, until the end of her mission when it came back, and she lost her fight a year after they got home. She was a terrific lady. I would say that when it comes to changing of mission presidents--the wife is the biggest factor! Maybe that is just because I loved my first MPW, and didn't get along with the second. Anyway, love love love when the missionaries can get together! The closest I was ever to the mission home was when I was in Lander--5 hours away.
